Peano

Peano's particle toolbox provides features to add tracers to your code, but also to add particles which swim around. We have some features to dump Lagrangian data into data bases and some generic input file readers. However, the toolbox has no domain-specific content, i.e. Physics. It is merely the base of tracers in ExaHyPE and SPH particles in Swift 2 for example.
Particles in Peano are typically tied to the mesh through the Particles-in-Dual-Tree paradigm which we introduce in our paper
As the toolbox is quite generic, it really only provides a very basic particle model where the particle hosts only the very essential parameters. The particle itself is modelled as a DaStGen class in Python within peano4.toolbox.particles.Particle.
Extensions and user codes typically take this baselien data model and augment it with further attributes which carry the actual physics.
