◆ add_cpp_file()

peano4.output.Makefile.Makefile.add_cpp_file ( self,
filename,
generated = False )

Add a new cpp filename.

This is basically a set implementation, i.e., you can add files multiple times, but they are not inserted multiple times. This is important, as the steps add the cpp files. Multiple steps can hold the same action, so this action would be created multiple times.

All the standard Peano 4 routines rely on this function to add their generated files to the build environment. Nothing stops you however to add more files yourself.

Since the GPU code is templated, using CUDA backend means that the main file and the subsequent compilation units need to be CUDA (.cu) files. To preserve backward compatability and seamless user experience; this call generates CUDA (.cu) files instead of C++ (.cpp) files when using CUDA backend.

filename: String Filename of a C++ file. They usually should have the .cpp/.cxx extension. generated: Bool Use this flag for generated files which can be tracked by the cleaning routines 'distclean' or 'maintainer-clean' of the Makefile.

Adds a CUDA (.cu) file to the list of files.

If the file is not generated, it is assumed that the file was existing at time of the call (a generated file will be generated later) therefore we need two separate lists for both files

◆ add_Fortran_file()

peano4.output.Makefile.Makefile.add_Fortran_file ( self,

Add a new Fortran file.

All the standard Peano 4 routines rely on this function to add their generated files to the build environment. Nothing stops you however to add more files yourself. Don't add a file multiple times. This might break the compiler.

Fortran is really picky about the translation order. So you have to add the stuff in the right order. Otherwise, Fortran might complain. This is your responsibility.

If your file defines a module, please do not use this routine, but use add_Fortran_module() instead.

Generates build files and other project-related files based on templates.

If using Automake, then a Makefile is generated; if using CMake then a CMakeLists.txt for the project is generated. A 'GeneratedSubdirectories.cmake' file is generated to add the project's target to the CMake build tree. With CMake, a modified Makefile is also generated where invoking 'make' will change directories and forward to CMake's own Makefile.

A .gitignore is also generated depending on the project files.
